Mothers of the Bride/Groom in elegant styling with soft laces, draped fabrics, and tasteful beading. A vast array of colors and sizes to create the perfect look for that special mom.
On New Years Day in 1950, pattern-dress maker Jerry Fisher married the love of his life, Thelma. Eleven years later, in 1961, their romance grew into a business partnership with the founding of Party Time Fashions, a day and party dress manufacturer.
In 1969, the company expanded the business to include a bridal gown division, Romantic Bridals. Jerry and Thelma Fisher then established a 20-year relationship with Bridal Originals, one of the largest bridal manufacturers in the United States. Under a license agreement, Romantic Bridals and Party Time Fashions manufactured their gowns, bridesmaids, mother-of-the-bride and prom dresses for the Canadian market. Party Time Fashions was the first Canadian manufacturer to produce prom dresses.
In 1971, Party Time Fashions and Romantic Bridals moved to a contemporary 23,000 square foot facility at Tycos Drive in order to accommodate for the growth of the company. As leaders in the fashion industry, the company was the first to move to this area, which is now well known as Toronto’s fashion district.
By 1983, the company began to import gowns with embroidered lace and hand beading from Taiwan, as was a leading trend in the bridal industry. During this transitional period, Jerry and Thelma Fisher’s two sons joined their parents in the family business.
With the help of their sons, the company has continued to grow and has been able to solidify long-lasting relationships with suppliers in Taiwan, Korea and China, which still exist today.
Today, Romantic Bridals gowns are known for their versatility, unparalleled fit and prudent price points. Romantic Bridals carries on a strong, 50-year tradition of supplying high quality, fashionable dresses to the Canadian and U.S. markets. As Today’s Bride Magazine wrote, “The business of Party Time Fashions is all about fashion, but best of all, it is also all about family.” Jerry and Thelma Fisher’s story is an inspiration to us all...
Romance should last a lifetime.
